SIHL adopt Two Way Contract
| News - News |
SIHL TWO WAY CONTRACT
For the purpose of this document, Fife Flyers and Solway Sharks will be referred to as “Senior Teams”, and Dundee Stars, Edinburgh Capitals and Braehead Clan will be referred to as “Elite Teams”.
No SNL team in a rink with a Senior/Elite team will be considered to be their feeder team. SNL teams are registered to SIHL and it is felt that all players in this league deserve the same chance of selection; therefore Senior/Elite teams will be allowed to enter into Two Way Contracts with any registered player in any rink subject to the rules and regulations laid out below.
Two Way Contracts only apply for SNL registered players, any player registered in Leagues below SNL are not legible to enter in to Two Way Contracts.
The SIHL Two Way Contract will be between any SNL Team affiliated to SIHL and Players registered with SIHL as players with one of the affiliated SNL Teams where a Two Way Contract Agreement has been made with a Senior or Elite Team, provided agreement has been made with the SNL Team. A player can only have one Two Way Contract at any given time.
Players cannot be approached directly by interested Senior/Elite Teams, only official requests through the players club will be acceptable.
SNL and Senior Teams
The player will sign a registration form with his SNL Team and would be registered and insured to play/train at this level with his SNL Team and be allowed to play/train up and down with a Senior Team. The player would have to sign a TWO WAY CONTRACT which will be held by the SIHL Registration Secretary.
Players signed with the Senior Team CANNOT play/train down. The SNL Team will have priority over the Senior Team for the services of the player, unless agreed between the SNL Team and the Senior Team.
No SNL game will be cancelled or rescheduled, due to players playing for a Senior Team.
SNL and Elite Teams
The player will sign a registration form with his SNL Team and would be registered and insured to play/train at this level with his team.
If a player is asked to play/train with an Elite Team, he would have to sign a TWO WAY CONTRACT and registration form with the Elite Team. The Elite Team would have to register and insure the player also with the Elite League, even though he is registered and insured with SIHL. This would allow the player to also play/train up and down with the Elite Team. The registration and two way contract documents would be held with the Elite League office with copies sent to SIHL Registration Secretary.
Players signed with Elite Teams CANNOT play or train down. The SNL Team will have priority over the Elite Team for the services of the player, unless agreed between the SNL Team and the Elite Team.
No SNL game will be cancelled or rescheduled, due to players playing for an Elite Team.
PENALTY POINTS
The player if suspended is only suspended at the level he receives the suspension, however the 7 day rule will still apply.
60% RULE
SNL registered players are required to play a minimum of 60% of the scheduled league games in SNL. Players, who regularly play up and down and do not complete the minimum 60% of games that are available to them, will not be allowed to play in selected games, i.e. Scottish Cup Games/Weekend, Spring Cup Games/Weekend.
For the avoidance of doubt, play means named on a game sheet.
